Chapter 31

Authors pov....

Sanyukta, beta, can you make khichdi for Bua Dadi? She won’t eat spicy food,” Roshini asked Sanyukta, who was chatting with Kirti and her cousins.

“Ji, Bua Ji, mei abhi bana deti hu,” Sanyukta replied with a warm smile and headed toward the kitchen.

Meanwhile, Ranvijay was sitting with the other men, deeply engrossed in discussions about politics, crime cases, and other ongoing issues. Avu was perched comfortably on his lap, his tiny hands gripping a shiny new car toy.

“Daddyyyy… luk at my cal!” Avu chirped, his big, curious eyes sparkling with excitement as he patted Ranvijay’s cheek. Ranvijay smiled, planting a soft kiss on Avu’s little palm.

“We goooo rideee… I wil diveee thisss,” Avu exclaimed, his voice bubbling with enthusiasm as he waved the car in the air. His tiny grin revealed his dimples, making everyone around melt at his adorableness.

“Wowwww… that’s going to be so much fun, Avuuu! But you must not forget to wear a seatbelt,” Ranvijay said, tapping Avu’s nose gently.

“I kno, Dadyyyy… mummaa dono (don’t know)...” Avu replied, shaking his head dramatically, his tiny lips pouting in mock seriousness. His innocence and antics drew hearty laughter from everyone.

“Bohot pyara hai tumhara beta, Ranvijay,” one of Arnav’s cousins said, watching Avu with an affectionate smile.

“Beta kiska hai?” Ranvijay responded with a raised brow, pulling Avu into a snug hug against his chest, his pride evident. His protective hold made Avu giggle uncontrollably, his chubby hands clapping in delight.

Avu’s laugh was infectious as he glanced at everyone, his cheeks rosy and his eyes sparkling like little stars. Unable to resist, Ranvijay tickled him gently, making Avu squirm and laugh even louder, his joy lighting up the entire room.

“Boys… have your snacks, phir nikalna bhi hai village ke liye,” Arnav’s father said, making them nod in agreement.

Ranvijay got up with Avu comfortably nestled in his arms, heading toward the kitchen to grab some fruits for him, knowing full well that Sanyukta might be tied up with the ladies.

As he entered the kitchen with his usual confident stride, Sanyukta glanced up at the father-son duo.

“Ye sab kya kar rahi hai?” Ranvijay asked, raising a brow as he leaned against the counter.

“Khichdi bana rahi hu Bua Dadi ke liye,” Sanyukta replied, closing the lid of the pressure cooker.

“Aapko kuch chaiye hai?” she asked, her voice soft as she gently caressed Avu’s back, making him giggle.

“Avu ke liye fruits lene aaya tha… I’ll get it done. Tu jaake kuch khaa le, phir nikalna bhi hai,” he said casually, his authoritative yet caring tone making her smile.

“Aap chaliye, mei leke aati hu,” Sanyukta offered, but he shook his head, gesturing her to go relax. He walked out, Avu still happily clinging to him.

Soon after, Sanyukta joined them in the living room, carrying a small plate of fruits.

“Ranvijay, tumne shaadi bhi kar li aur bacha bhi ho gaya… hume pata bhi nahi laga!” one of the nosy aunties remarked with exaggerated surprise.

“Vo actually, Aunty, mene newspaper mein nahi chapvaya tha… shayad isliye aapko nahi pata laga,” Ranvijay quipped with a deadpan expression, his sarcasm hitting just the right note. The room erupted in laughter, while the aunty gave him a mildly offended frown.

Sanyukta shook her head with a small, knowing smile. She was all too familiar with his sharp tongue and effortless humor.

“Biwi toh sundar hai tumhari… kaha mili ye?” an elderly woman inquired, her tone dripping with curiosity.

“Dadii, mila toh mei hu ise… ye toh khud piche pad gai mere,” Ranvijay smirked, his mischievous eyes locking with Sanyukta’s as everyone burst into laughter.

“Kisne piche pada tha, ye toh aap ache se jaante hai,” Sanyukta muttered under her breath, just loud enough for him to hear, as she fed Avu a piece of fruit. Her retort earned her a quick, amused glance from him.

“Ranvijay Bhai… we’d love to know your love story!” Kirti chimed in, her enthusiasm mirrored by everyone else’s curious faces.

“Bataye ab sabko… humari love story,” Sanyukta said, biting back a smile, her eyes glinting with mischief as she challenged him.

“Hmmm,” Ranvijay hummed dramatically, leaning back with an exaggerated thoughtful expression. “Pehle coffee pilao… itna special edition story free mein nahi sunayenge,” he teased, leaving the room laughing again, as Sanyukta shook her head with a fond smile.

“Bohot lambi kahani hai…” Ranvijay said, leaning back on the couch, casually sipping his coffee, his tone already drawing everyone in.

“Toh hua kuch aisa tha ki mera assistant hai Satyam, aur uski behen hai Shiksha. Shiksha aur Sanyukta best friends thi, aur hum dono ki pehli mulaqat Shiksha ki shaadi mein hui thi,” he began, his words deliberately paced to build suspense.

“Satyam ne mujhe introduce karwaya, aur madam ko toh pehle hi meeting mein mujhpe bada sa crush ho gaya,” Ranvijay added, throwing a playful wink at Sanyukta.

Sanyukta groaned, burying her face in her hands. “Ranvijay!” she whispered in disbelief, making everyone laugh.

“For me, though, it was just a casual meeting,” Ranvijay said with a nonchalant shrug, clearly enjoying the teasing mood.

“Phir kya hua, Bhaiiii?” Kirti probed, leaning forward eagerly.

“Phir kya hona tha? Pure wedding ke functions mein she tried to grab my attention, but shuru mei maine koi bhav nahi diya,” Ranvijay declared, puffing up his chest with mock pride.

“Sakht launda hai humara!” one of the guys commented, making everyone burst into laughter.

“Pyaar kaise hua phir?” Sonam Bhabhi asked, now equally curious.

“She got my number from Satyam and texted me, saying how much she likes me and wants to be my friend…” Ranvijay said, his voice dripping with fake modesty.

“I was a bit hesitant, but you know, madam insisted a lot. Lastly, maine haar maan li, and we became friends,” he continued, smirking at the amused faces around him.

“Itna jhootha koi kaise ho sakta hai,” Sanyukta muttered under her breath, shaking her head in disbelief.

Ranvijay, hearing her, laughed out loud, drawing everyone’s attention. “Bol rahi hai ki aage ka mat batayiye, mujhe sharam aa rahi hai!” he announced, his eyes twinkling mischievously.

Sanyukta widened her eyes, horrified. “Main jaa rahi hu,” she declared, getting up to escape, but Ranvijay grabbed her hand gently, pulling her back down beside him.

“Arrey, itna bhi kya sharmana, Biwi? Humari love story hi toh hai,” he said with a smirk, earning a glare from her as everyone chuckled.

“Haan toh phir,” Ranvijay resumed, ignoring her protests, “humari baatein hone lagi. We became best friends, and then one fine day, madam ne mujhe propose kar diya for marriage.”

As he said this, he wrapped his arm around Sanyukta’s shoulder, pulling her closer. Her cheeks flushed pink as she looked down at her lap, feeling the weight of everyone’s teasing glances.

“Dekho, abhi bhi blush kar rahi hai!” someone teased, making Sanyukta groan quietly, while Ranvijay chuckled, clearly enjoying her shy reactions.

"Wow, Bhabhiiii! I can’t believe ki aapne propose kiya hoga… you seem so shy,” one of Arnav’s paternal cousin sisters exclaimed, her tone filled with genuine surprise.

Ranvijay leaned back, smirking. “Then I accepted it, and we got married,” he concluded his story with dramatic finality, earning hoots and cheers from everyone.

“Yaar Ranvijay… how lucky you are ki Bhabhi ne tujhe propose kiya. Aaj kal kaha hoti hai aisi ladkiyan,” Arnav’s friend chimed in, shaking his head in mock disbelief.

“I know… I’ve got the unique one. And I feel truly blessed to have her as my wife,” Ranvijay said smoothly, glancing at Sanyukta with a teasing smile. She elbowed him discreetly, her cheeks tinted pink, while he chuckled softly, clearly enjoying her flustered state.

“Let’s freshen up, guys. Phir nikalna bhi hai hume,” Ranvijay announced, shifting the mood. Everyone dispersed to handle their own tasks, while he followed Sanyukta upstairs to their room, leaving Avu happily playing with Anu and Kirti.

As they entered the room, Sanyukta turned around, arms folded, her expression a mix of exasperation and amusement.

“Kya?! Ab kuch toh story batani thi na,” Ranvijay said innocently, holding up his hands in mock surrender as she narrowed her eyes at him.

“Haan, toh kuch decent bhi bata sakte the na!” she shot back, raising her eyebrows.

“Haan, toh maine kaunsi asleel kahani sunai hai? It was decent, Biwi,” Ranvijay said cheekily, stepping closer and squeezing her cheeks, making her sigh in frustration.

“Aap kabhi nahi sudhar sakte… aaye bade piche padi thi! Aap aaye the mere piche!” Sanyukta retorted, puffing her cheeks adorably.

Ranvijay chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. “Achaaa?” he asked, pulling her effortlessly into his arms. She nodded firmly, trying to look serious, but her eyes betrayed her playful annoyance.

“Par tujhe crush toh ho gaya tha mujhpe,” he added with a teasing grin, tilting his head closer.

Sanyukta rolled her eyes dramatically, trying to wiggle free from his hold. “Aap na bas… apne sapne alag hi duniya ke hote hain!” she quipped, but her slight smile gave her away.

Ranvijay chuckled again, leaning down to plant a quick kiss on her forehead. “Sapne toh mere sach ho gaye, Biwi,” he said softly, leaving her momentarily speechless, her cheeks warming under his gaze.

"Ahhh ...." Sanyukta winced as Ranvijay pinched her waist playfully.

Chodiye mujhe ....ready hone dijiye...saara time pareshan karte rahte hai, she muttered, wriggling in his hold , but instead of letting her go , he tightened his arms around her , pulling her even closer.

I remember koi roo raha tha and bol rahi thi , " Aa jaye ...jo kahege vo karungi ...I will be a good wife , " Ranvijay mimicked her in an exaggerated voice , earning a dramatic pout from her.

"Haan , vo isliye ki Avu ka maan nahi lag raha tha ...aur usko dekh ke mera bhi mann ajeeb ho raha tha !" Sanyukta reasoned, trying to sound Stern , but her voice faltered under her teasing gaze .

"Chal jhuthiiii ," he accused, smirking as he leaned down to playfully bite her nose , making her squel.

"Duniya ke sabse bade juthe ki biwi jo hu , juthi toh ban hi jaaungi na ," she shot back cheekily, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

"Aisi baat hai , Biwi ?" Ranvijay asked , raising an eyebrow, his smirk deepening.

"Hmmm..."she hummed, trying to hold back her laughter , but the faint tug at the corner of her lips gave her away .

"Toh phir ache se jutha kar deta hu tujhe ," he said with a mischievous glint in his eyes . His thumb gently caressed her lower lip , his smirk widening into a teasing grin as he winked at her .

Sanyukta's eyes widen in shock at his bold move , her cheeks heating up instantly.

"Ranvijay!" she exclaimed, trying to push him away , but her flustered reaction only made his laughter echo through the room .

"Ranvijayyy..tyar hona _ " Sanyukta's words were abruptly cut off as Ranvijay captured her lips in a sudden, passionate kiss , silencing her completely.

Her eyes widen in surprise before fluttering shut , her hands instinctively fisting his collar as she gave into the moment.

Ranvijay cupped her face gentle but firmly, deeping the kiss with a possessive intensity that made her melt against him .

He claimed her lips , sucking and tasting them with deliberate control , leaving her no space to think or act , as if the world had ceased to exist around them .

He bit down on her lower lip, earning a sharp hiss from her , but before the sting could linger ,bhe soothed it with a tender suck , drawing her futher in his spell.

Feeling breathless, Sanyukta patted his chest , silently signalling her need for air .
Understanding her unspoken plea , Ranvijay finally pulled back , allowing her to gasp for breath, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she tried to steady herself.

"Abhi bhi kuch bolna hai Biwi ?" Ranvijay teased softly, pressing a light kiss on the top of her head , a smug smirk tugging at his lips .

She let out a small groan, lightly smacking his chest , unable to form a proper response.
"Aap na...." She mumbled, her voice muffled against his shirt, making him chuckle softly as he continued holding her close ...

They quickly pulled away upon hearing a knock on the door.

Anu entered with Avu, who wasted no time rushing toward Ranvijay, his tiny arms reaching up eagerly. Ranvijay smiled and scooped him up effortlessly.

"Bhabhi, aap abhi tak ready nahi hui?" Anu asked, her gaze shifting to Sanyukta, whose flushed face betrayed her embarrassment.

"Abhi jaa hi rahi thi… it won't take much time. Aap Avu ko change karwa dijiye," Sanyukta mumbled, avoiding eye contact with Ranvijay, and hurried into the bathroom.

For the trip to the village, two buses and three cars had been arranged. The elders chose the cars for a more comfortable ride, while the younger group piled onto the buses.

Sanyukta took a seat at the back with Anu and Kirti, while Ranvijay sat in the front row with Arnav, holding Avu in his lap.

The bus buzzed with energy as everyone chatted, laughed, and enjoyed the evening. The ladies' group engaged in an enthusiastic game of Antakshari, while the men entertained themselves with playful banter and card games, poking fun at each other.

Avu yawned adorably, his tiny mouth stretching wide as sleepiness took over. Ranvijay noticed and stood carefully, cradling the little boy in his arms as he made his way to the back where Sanyukta sat.

“Here, take him… he’s sleepy,” he said softly, handing Avu over to her.

Sanyukta adjusted Avu in her arms, gently stroking his back. “Iska baby blanket de dijiye upar se,” she requested.

Ranvijay nodded, retrieved the blanket, and handed it to her. “Kuch aur chahiye?” he asked, his tone gentle.

She shook her head with a small smile. “No, thank you.”

After two hours, the bus stopped at a roadside restaurant for dinner. Everyone got off to stretch their legs and eat.

“Suniye… mujhe washroom jaana hai,” Sanyukta told Ranvijay quietly.

He immediately stood, guiding her to the washroom area and waiting outside until she was done.

When she stepped out, he noticed the slight discomfort on her face. “Kya hua? Sab thik hai?” he asked, his voice laced with concern.

She nodded, though her expression revealed otherwise.

“Periods?” he asked bluntly, catching her off guard.

Her eyes widened slightly in surprise. “Aapko kaise pata laga? Stain laga hai kya?” she whispered, her tone nervous.

He sighed. “Kuch nahi laga hua… I just guessed.”

Relieved, she nodded.

“Bohot zyada pain hai? Koi medicine arrange karu?” he asked, his concern evident.

A soft smile spread across her lips as she shook her head. “I’m fine. Thank you,” she said, her voice warm with appreciation.

“No… medicine nahi chahiye,” Sanyukta shook her head gently, offering him a reassuring smile.

They climbed back onto the bus, and this time, Ranvijay insisted she sit with him in the front. “Yahan baith ja. Ab sab so jayenge, aur tu zyada comfortable rahegi,” he said, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Avu was fast asleep in his baby seat, his tiny chest rising and falling in a peaceful rhythm. Ranvijay adjusted their seats slightly backward, ensuring Sanyukta could recline comfortably. He then draped a shawl over her to keep her warm.

“Chocolate bhi laya hu tere liye… in case if it helps,” he said, pulling out a bar from his pocket, his voice soft but steady.

Sanyukta turned to him, her eyes wide with surprise and gratitude. She shifted closer to him, resting her head on his chest and pressing a gentle kiss there. “You’re too good to me,” she whispered, feeling overwhelmed by his thoughtfulness.

“Dard ho raha hai,” she muttered softly against his neck, her voice barely audible but filled with vulnerability.

Ranvijay’s heart clenched. He kissed the top of her head, murmuring, “Relax, I’m here.”

He tugged the shawl down slightly, slipping his hand under her kurti. His palm, cool against her warm skin, rested on her abdomen, making her squirm at the unexpected sensation. Slowly, he began to massage her lower abdomen in gentle, circular motions.

“Relax, Biwi,” he said soothingly, his deep voice like a balm to her frayed nerves. His touch was careful yet firm, his fingers working to ease her pain.

Sanyukta sighed softly, melting into his care. “Aapka haath thanda hai,” she mumbled, a faint shiver running through her, but she didn’t pull away. Instead, she let herself sink further into his comfort, the ache in her body gradually easing under his ministrations.

Ranvijay glanced down at her, his expression tender yet protective. “Agar aur bhi kuch chahiye ho, toh bas bol dena,” he said, his voice low and steady.

She nodded silently, her head still resting against his chest, feeling safe, loved, and utterly cherished in his presence.

Sanyukta buried her face deeper into his neck, her soft giggles escaping despite her attempt to muffle them as Ranvijay’s hand shifted mischievously to tickle the side of her waist.

“Ranvijayyyyy… stop it!” she whispered, her voice a mix of laughter and pleading.

“Mat kariye… sab hai yaha,” she hissed quietly, grabbing his hand to stop him.

Ranvijay smirked, his eyes glinting with playful mischief. “Kiss kar… then I might think about it,” he teased, his tone casual yet deliberate.

Sanyukta’s mouth fell open in disbelief as she pouted at him. “Nahi… main aisa kuch bhi nahi kar rahi… koi dekh lega,” she replied, her voice barely above a whisper, her cheeks flushing a deep red.

“As you wish,” he said with a shrug, but the glint in his eyes didn’t fade. Without missing a beat, he resumed his tickling assault, targeting the sensitive spot on her waist.

“Ranvijay!” she squealed softly, trying her best not to laugh too loudly. She squirmed in her seat, clutching his arm in an attempt to stop him.

Her laughter was contagious, and Ranvijay couldn’t help but chuckle along with her. “Kiss kar ke dekh… problem solve ho jayegi,” he teased again, clearly enjoying her flustered state.

“Kyuu parshan kar rahe ho?” Sanyukta whispered softly, her face flushed with embarrassment, yet a playful sparkle in her eyes.

Ranvijay’s grin grew wider as he leaned in slightly, his voice low but confident. “Kya bola tha tune… jo mei bolunga, vo karogi… just do it.” He said, his tone stubborn, but a hint of amusement in his gaze.

Sanyukta glanced around, noticing that most of the people were either busy or already asleep. She took a deep breath, gathering her courage. With a small, nervous smile, she gently pulled him closer. Her lips brushed lightly against his in a quick, sweet kiss, her heart racing at the intimacy.

As soon as the kiss ended, she pulled away, her cheeks still burning, but there was a soft, contented smile on her face. “Mil gai kiss ,” she whispered, teasing him a little, still feeling the flutter of her heart.

Sanyukta's heart raced as Ranvijay groaned, clearly not satisfied with her quick kiss .
"That's not a kiss ....ache se kar , " he demanded, his voice a mix of frustration and amusement.

Sanyukta, blushing deeply, pouted at him .
"Please na ......"she whispered, but before she could say more , Ranvijay leaned in kissing her with warmth and tenderness.

The world seemed to fade away for a moment as he kissed her , making her forget everything around them .
Her heart beat widely, and their as their kiss deepend, she felt like time stood still.

Ranvijay chuckled at her flushed face parting away , his hand still gently massaging her abdomen, the warmth of his touch making her feel both relaxed and cared for .

He continued his soft,  teasing motions , occassionally making her smile as the bus made it way towards the village .
