It was a relaxed Saturday mid-morning, the kind of weekend where everyone was home, except for Ranveer and Anjali, who were away for a business brunch.
The atmosphere was light, the house buzzing with a mix of leisure and playful chatter.
Sanyukta was busy making Avu and Aarvi drink their milk, while Indira Devi was glued to her favorite serial.
Just then, Ranvijay walked into the living room, stretching his arms as if he had fought a battle just to wake up. He spotted his Dadi, plopped beside her with exaggerated tiredness, and sighed dramatically.
"Induuuu... I missed my favorite serial! Brief me on the story I missed!" he demanded, making Indira Devi chuckle.
Dadi, ever enthusiastic about her serials, straightened her posture, eyes gleaming. "Bete, tumne toh Maha Episode hi miss kar diya!" she announced dramatically. "Hero ko saanp ne kaat liya, aur saas ne bahu ko dosh de diya!"
Ranvijay’s eyebrows shot up. "Kyaaa?!" He leaned forward, utterly invested. "Saanp kata bhi toh bahu ki galti? Logic dekho inka! Matlab hero ke DNA me chip lagi thi jo sirf biwi ki wajah se saanp ne kaata?"
Sanyukta shook her head with a small chuckle, while Avu and Aarvi giggled, enjoying their Ranvijay's antics.
Indira Devi continued excitedly, "Phir Kavya daudti hai jungle mein, saanp ko pakad kar uska antidote tayar karti hai! Wo bhi nange pair hospital bhaagti hai!"
Ranvijay whistled in admiration. "Dadiiiii! Yeh hoti hai patni!" He turned towards Sanyukta with a dramatic sigh. "Hume bhi koi Kavya jaisi biwi milti toh kya hi baat thi!"
Sanyukta crossed her arms, raising a brow. "Koi matlab?"
He smirked, leaning back. "I mean, come on! Hero se zyada handsome hoon main, toh mujhe toh extra-premium version milni chahiye thi!"
Before Sanyukta could respond, Dadi playfully slapped his cheek. "Badtameez!" she scolded, but her laughter betrayed her amusement.
Ranvijay sighed heavily, placing a hand over his forehead as if carrying the burden of the entire world. "Dadi, sach kahu toh shaadi ke baad toh meri zindagi barbaad ho gayi hai…"
Pushpa ji, who had just entered, raised a questioning brow. "Matlab?"
Ranvijay turned to her, looking deeply hurt. "Matlab, Maa, din bhar mehnat se paisa kamao, ghar aake do ghante biwi ko manao, phir bhi bechara pati kissi kone me padha rehta hai! Yeh koi zindagi hai?"
Aarvi, who had been listening curiously, innocently asked, "chachuu, aap kone mein padhe rehte ho kya?"
Ranvijay dramatically placed a hand on his chest, looking utterly heartbroken. "Yes, Baby ! Mera toh status ek showpiece se zyada nahi hai is ghar me!"
Pushpa ji rolled her eyes, while Indira Devi laughed loudly, enjoying the show.
He suddenly sat up, stretching lazily. "Yaar, aaj kuch achha khane ka mann ho raha hai! Koi mere liye kuch special bana do!"
Pushpa ji patted his head sarcastically. "Mujhe toh time nahi hai. Maasi se milne ja rahi hoon."
Ranvijay placed both hands on his head, shaking it in despair. "Wah! Matlab maa bhi beta ka bhala nahi sochti! Mera aaj bhookh se ant ho jayega!"
His eyes landed on Sanyukta, and suddenly, mischief danced in his gaze.
"Aap hi kuch bana dijiye, Sanyukta ji!" he smirked, voice dripping with challenge. "Bohot din se bakery ja rahi hai, dekhein toh ki kuch seekh kar aayi hain ya bas bakery ke log aapke paise se maze uda rahe hain!"
Sanyukta, unfazed, asked simply, "Kya khana hai?"
Ranvijay placed a hand under his chin, pretending to think deeply. "Hmmm… Kuch bhi chalega, bas khaane layak ho!"
She narrowed her eyes. "Aapko sirf bolna aata hai, Ranvijay ji. Taste karne ke baad dekhna, bolti band ho jayegi!"
He leaned closer, smirking devilishly. "Bas yeh na ho ki ‘unchi dukan, phika pakwan’ wali baat ho jaaye!"
Sanyukta crossed her arms, her glare sharp. "I will shut your mouth by stuffing it with my special cookies!"
Indira Devi clapped her hands in delight, while Pushpa ji burst into laughter.
Ranvijay tilted his head, raising an eyebrow mischievously. "Special cookies? Sun ke toh aisa lag raha hai jaise koi secret revenge plan ho!" He stood up, stretching. "Chalo, main bhi dekhta hoon kitchen mein kya gadbad hone wali hai. Warna mujhe doubt hai ki yeh ‘special’ ke naam pe mujhe poison na khila dein!"
"Wait and watch," Sanyukta said, getting up with the empty glasses.
"I would like to keep an eye on you closely… ," Ranvijay smirked, getting up and following her to the kitchen.
"Hum bhi help karein?" Aarvi asked excitedly, looking at Sanyukta with big hopeful eyes.
"Mee tooo , Meko bhi banana hai!" Avu chimed in, nodding eagerly as he rushed behind them.
In the kitchen, Sanyukta took out all the ingredients and carefully measured them.
Aarvi and Avu climbed onto the counter, sitting cross-legged with their tiny hands resting on their cheeks, eyes wide with curiosity.
Ranvijay leaned against the counter beside Sanyukta, arms crossed, watching them with an amused expression.
"So… my little MasterChefs, tum dono kya karoge?" he asked playfully.
And with that, their little baking adventure began!
Ranvijay tied a clean kitchen cloth around Aarvi and Avu’s necks as makeshift aprons, making them giggle in delight.
"Now, let me help my wife too," he murmured, grabbing an apron and slipping it around Sanyukta.
As he adjusted the strings, he pulled her closer, his fingers grazing her waist before giving it a deliberate squeeze.
Sanyukta sucked in a sharp breath and nudged him with her elbow. "Bache hai idhar," she whispered, throwing him a warning glare laced with shyness.
Ranvijay smirked, entirely unfazed. "Haan toh? Bache apna kaam kar rahe hain, aur main apna," he teased, leaning in to press a soft kiss against her cheek.
A warm blush crept up Sanyukta’s face as she quickly pushed him away, only for him to chuckle deeply , his eyes held mischief.
Ranvijay grabbed a handful of choco chips from the bowl, casually handing some to Avu and Aarvi before tossing the rest into his mouth.
"Let’s just enjoy the choco chips… ab cookies ka koi bharosa nahi, bane bhi ya nahi," he teased, casting a mischievous glance at Sanyukta.
Avu’s tiny lips formed a dramatic pout as he looked up at him with wide, disappointed eyes. "Dadyyy… cookie nahiii banege?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.
Sanyukta immediately cupped Avu’s chubby cheeks, her expression softening. "Of course banege, baby! Your Daddy doesn’t know anything," she reassured him, shooting a sharp glare at Ranvijay, who simply snickered, thoroughly enjoying himself.
Once the dough was ready, Sanyukta pinched off small portions and handed them to Aarvi and Avu, knowing they were getting restless. Their faces instantly lit up as they clapped their tiny hands in excitement, ready to become little bakers.
As the kids got busy playing with the batter, Ranvijay seized the moment. He stepped behind Sanyukta, caging her between himself and the counter, his body pressing firmly against her back. She sucked in a sharp breath, her hands instinctively gripping the edge of the counter.
"Ranvijayyy…" she whispered, attempting to step aside, but he swiftly blocked her path, placing his arms on either side of her.
"Kyun pareshan kar rahe hain mujhe…" she murmured, glancing at him over her shoulder. Instead of answering, he leaned in and brushed a feather-light kiss against her nose, making her heart skip a beat.
His lips curled into a smirk. "Abhi toh maine kuch kiya hi nahi hai, Sanyukta ji… aap abhi se pareshan ho rahi hain?" he teased, winking as he rested his chin on her shoulder.
Before she could respond, he gently turned her face toward the counter. "Focus," he murmured, his deep voice laced with amusement. She knew him too well—he wouldn’t budge no matter what. Yet, the warmth of his breath fanning against her neck sent shivers down her spine, making it impossible to concentrate. And she knew… this was just the beginning.
Ranvijay reached for a small piece of dough and popped it into his mouth, instantly making a face.
Sanyukta chuckled. "Yeh aise khane ke liye nahi hota."
He licked his lips and arched a brow. "I need to check if you messed up the recipe… and by the way, I can taste anything I want here," he whispered, his voice low and husky, sending a delicious thrill down her spine.
Before she could react, he leaned in, his lips ghosting over her neck, leaving behind slow, teasing kisses that made her breath hitch. She stole a glance at Avu and Aarvi and sighed in relief when she saw them too engrossed in their own little mess.
"Ranvijayyy…" she squirmed in his hold as his hand discreetly slipped beneath her kurti, tracing lazy, torturous patterns over her waist. Her stomach fluttered, betraying her resolve.
He buried his face into the crook of her neck, his lips pressing a lingering kiss just beneath her ear. A soft gasp escaped her as she instinctively leaned back against him, momentarily forgetting everything else .
"Mummaa…!"
Sanyukta jolted back to reality at Avu’s call, immediately pushing Ranvijay away. He let out a low groan in protest.
"Batter gir gayaaa…" Avu pointed at the lump of dough now sitting on the floor, his tiny face scrunched up in distress.
Sanyukta chuckled, bending down to pick it up. "Lo, ho gaya solve tumhara problem."
Avu’s face instantly lit up. "Thankuuu!" he grinned, grabbing the dough again and happily squeezing it between his little palms.
When she turned back, Ranvijay was watching her with an all-too-familiar smirk.
"Aap jaaye yaha se. Aapka koi kaam nahi hai yaha," she stated, knowing full well that if he stayed, baking in peace would be impossible thanks to his endless mischief.
But Ranvijay simply leaned in, his smirk deepening. "I’m too invested in the chef and the cookies… I just can’t leave without tasting both," he said shamelessly, his voice dripping with amusement.
Sanyukta’s eyes widened in disbelief as her cheeks burned crimson. Heat crept up her neck as she gaped at him.
"Besharami ki bhi hadd hoti hai," she muttered under her breath, turning back to the counter and rolling out the dough to make cookies.
Ranvijay chuckled. "Hadd toh hui hi nahi hai, biwi… yeh toh bas ek jhalak thi," he whispered, pinching her waist playfully.
Sanyukta hissed, rubbing the spot and shooting him a glare, but he simply grinned, completely unbothered.
Focusing back on the cookies, she carefully cut them into shapes, placed them on the baking tray, and decorated them with choco chips before sliding them into the preheated oven.
"Mummaa… kab banega cokiee?" Avu asked, his tiny voice filled with impatience.
Ranvijay chuckled at his eagerness.
Sanyukta kissed Avu’s cheek lovingly. "Just 15 more minutes, baby."
Seeing them still looking expectantly at the oven, she added, "Tab tak aap dono jaake cartoons dekho. I’ll bring your cookies there."
Aarvi and Avu exchanged glances before nodding enthusiastically.
Ranvijay picked them up and placed them on the ground, and within seconds, they had scampered off to the hall, giggling excitedly.
"Aap bhi jaaye ab… let me wrap this up," Sanyukta said, glancing at Ranvijay, who, instead of listening, simply shook his head and pulled her into his arms.
"Ranvijayyy…" she whispered urgently, pressing her hands against his chest to stop him as he leaned in. "Vidya Kaki aur Maa aate hi honge lunch prepare karne," she reminded him, her voice barely above a whisper.
But Ranvijay was unfazed. "Haan toh?" he smirked, pressing her back against the counter, his grip firm as his fingers trailed up to cradle the back of her neck. "Stop wasting time… sooner we start, earlier we finish," he added, his voice dripping with mischief.
Sanyukta sucked in a sharp breath, her heart hammering. "Please… yaha nahi," she pleaded, glancing toward the door, knowing full well that anyone could walk in at any moment.
Ranvijay firmly clasped both of Sanyukta’s hands behind her back with one of his own, leaving her completely at his mercy. Without hesitation, he captured her soft, supple lips, tilting her face to deepen the kiss.
Her eyes fluttered shut as a wave of warmth spread through her, a tingling sensation igniting in the pit of her stomach. Her body instinctively melted into him, surrendering to the intoxicating pull of his touch.
Ranvijay deepened the kiss, his lips moving against hers with unrelenting hunger, an unquenched thirst that only seemed to intensify with each passing second.
Sanyukta’s heart pounded erratically against her ribcage, as if desperate to break free. The sheer force of his passion left her dizzy, unsteady. She struggled against his grip, needing something—anything—to hold on to as her body trembled under his touch.
But, as always, he gave her no chance to reciprocate, dominating the kiss entirely. His tongue delved into her mouth, exploring, claiming, leaving her breathless.
When he finally released her hands, they instinctively shot up to clutch his arms, seeking balance as her legs threatened to give way. Sensing her weakness, he pulled her up effortlessly, his hold possessive and unyielding.
She tapped against his chest weakly, trying to push him away, desperate for air, but he had no intention of letting go just yet.
"Ummhh…" a soft moan escaped her lips as he teasingly nipped at her tongue, only to pull away just before she could completely lose herself.
Sanyukta gasped, panting hard, her lips swollen and glistening. Before she could steady herself, Ranvijay pulled her flush against his chest, his arms wrapping securely around her. One hand traced slow, soothing circles over her back, while the other tangled in her hair, as if grounding her to him.
